Lukas Herzog has been a research assistant at the Department of Journalism since 2016. His focus in teaching and research is on audio-visual media, media ethics and podcasting as a journalistic medium. He is also responsible for the cooperation of the Department with OK:TV Mainz and advisor for technical affairs.

In addition, Lukas Herzog is a freelance journalist and works as a consultant for media-technical and media-educational projects. He is involved on a voluntary basis as head of the open channel naheTV (Idar-Oberstein) and board member of the State Association of Public Channels (Landesverband Offener Kanäle) in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Lukas Herzog studied communication science, audio-visual publishing and journalism at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.

Meanwhile, he worked as culture editor for Radio Idar-Oberstein and as editor and cameraman for the university television CampusTV.
