What is quality in journalism? Do people still trust newspapers? How can editorial teams make good use of technologies like “virtual reality”? To address questions like these and many more, we also need answers from science. The Department of Journalism combines career orientation with science, thus advancing journalism research, building bridges to the media industry and providing impetus for journalistic practice. As an institution of the Johannes Gutenberg University and as part of the Mainz Department of Communication (Institut für Publizistik, IfP), it is part of a strong research community.
