The School of Journalism in Mainz stands for journalism that informs, enlightens and empowers.

We are right in the middle of it: We are academics and adjunct professors with a lot of experience in professional journalism. We reflect trends in the media and teach young people who are passionate about journalism. We are located in the center of the media city Mainz: the old Domus Universitatis from the 17th century. We prepare our students for 21st century journalism in all media genres. The School of Journalism is part of the university's renowned Department of Communication. We offer an MA program in Journalism, a German-French MA program in Transnational Journalism, and a BA minor in Audiovisual Media.
