Self-publishing has never been as easy as it is today. That is precisely why there is an increased need for “journalism” again. And it needs to be done by well-trained young people, i.e., trained journalists.
Since 2020, Roland Welling has been an honorary professor at the School of Journalism. Previously, he had already been an adjunct lecturer for radio journalism in the Master’s program of Journalism at the same the Department since 2012, and was also a speaker at the podcast exercise of the Institute for Ethnology and African Studies, among other things. He was also an adjunct lecturer for the European Master of Arts in Media at the University of Kassel in 2005. In 2014 and 2016, he was an exchange lecturer in radio journalism at the Department of Journalism at the University of Memphis, where he gave lectures and workshops on topics such as live reporting and radio in Germany. In 2015/2016, Roland Welling gave a lecture at the University of Basel in Aarau on Media Day/ Nanoscience Media Competence. Since 2015, he has also given regular lectures as part of the Media Day and the seminar “Rhetoric, Communication & Media Skills” at the Swiss Nano Institute of the University of Basel.
