Our CampusMedia teaching editorial team, headed by Marisa Santos, will broadcast the Special Olympics Mainz 2025 live together with OK:TV Mainz on all three days of the event.

The starting signal for three days full of emotion, sport and lived inclusion - we’ll be there live! Join us for the grand opening of the Special Olympics Rhineland-Palatinate 2025 - live from Mainz! To kick off the Special Olympics Rhineland-Palatinate 2025, we will be broadcasting live from our ‘Olympics Studio’ and from the Rhine. We provide insights into the inclusive sporting event and welcome Ellen Kubica, the state representative for the interests of people with disabilities, to the studio. We talk to her about modern inclusion policy in Rhineland-Palatinate. We then switch to the banks of the Rhine for the opening ceremony.

Personal stories, sporting highlights and strong voices - the second day brings action and emotion. On the first big competition day of the Special Olympics RLP 2025, we will take you to the sports venues in and around Mainz: look forward to impressions of judo, golf, cycling, badminton and the state games mile! We welcome Elena Backhausen to the studio - she is researching the visibility of disabled sport and talks to us about media representation and diversity. We’ll also be showing you exciting contributions: a captivating report, a personal portrait, a vivid explanatory report - and much more!

Pride, joy and community - we accompany the emotional conclusion of the Games. At the end of the Special Olympics 2025, we look back on three moving days - full of top sporting performances and human encounters. We are there live at the big award ceremony - including all the emotions on the podium. Plus: current reports from the football and athletics finals.
