Katja Schupp has been a professor at the School of Journalism since 2017. Her teaching and research focuses on audiovisual journalism and its development, innovations in journalism, format development, storytelling in audiovisual journalism and documentary forms. At the School of Journalism, she heads the audiovisual section of the Master’s in Journalism and the Bachelor’s minor in Audiovisual Publishing, is the program officer for the German-French Master’s in Transnational Journalism and is responsible for CampusMedia, JGU’s student media program. As a user representative and construction representative of Johannes Gutenberg University for the new media building on campus, she is helping to shape the future of media subjects at JGU. In addition, she continues to work as a journalist doing audiovisual long formats.
