Film: Die Möllner Briefe (2025)
Director: Martina Priessner
Thu, 22. Jan 2026 | 17:30 | Capitol Arthouse Cinema Mainz (Neubrunnenstraße 9, Mainz)
In November 1992, the racist attack in Mölln destroyed the lives of Ibrahim Arslan and his family. Ibrahim, who was seven years old at the time, survived but lost his sister, cousin and grandmother. The town of Mölln received hundreds of letters expressing solidarity, but for almost three decades no one took any notice of them. The film follows Ibrahim as he discovers these letters and meets three of their authors. At the same time, it paints a complex portrait of the ongoing trauma that continues to affect Ibrahim and his siblings to this day.
