Birgitta Assheuer has been a voice-over artist for radio, television and film since 1990. She has read at numerous literary readings with authors from all over the world. Among them were Nobel Prize winners Michael Ondaatje and Kenzaburo Oe. As a reciter, she performs at concert readings and the literature festivals in Mannheim and Lower Saxony.

For German audio book publishers, she has featured in more than 50 CD productions. The productions “Mary Shelly” and “Deutsche Winterreise”, a song cycle with stories of people on the margins, by project artist Stefan Weiller, were nominated for the German Audiobook Award in 2020.
